Information for Patients
Financial Information
We accept most insurance plans. Coverage will be verified with your insurer at your first visit. Co-payment/co-insurance is expected at the time of visit. We accept cash, checks, VISA, Mastercard, and Discover. Photo ID is required. Please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions about insurance or billing – we’re here to help you.
Does ESA offer a payment plan?
Depending upon your insurance plan, you may have to pay all or part of your bill out of pocket. If you feel that this will cause a financial burden, our Finance Department would be happy to discuss possible solutions.
What if I don’t have insurance?
Evansville Surgical Associates will try and do what we can to help as many patients as possible.

Prepare for Surgery
At Evansville Surgical Associates we understand that surgery is a big deal for you and your family. Our top priority is our patients and providing you with high compassionate quality service. As you prepare for your surgery, please read through the information provided to you at our office. You will also have time to ask questions when you have your appointment with your surgeon. Everyone at our office is here to serve and guide you.
What do I do after my surgery?
You will either call into the office or a follow-up appointment will be scheduled within the next 7 to 10 days.
May I take a bath or shower after my surgery?
Bathing restrictions are different for every patient, depending on your surgery. The surgeon or nurse will let you know when you may take a bath. Showers are normally recommended initially to help keep the dressing and sutures dry.
What should I do if my incision seems red or inflamed, I begin to run a fever, or just do not feel right?
Redness or inflammation around the incision is common after surgery. As the incision begins to heal, the redness and tenderness should gradually diminish. If it worsens or you begin to run a fever, please call the office immediately at (812) 424-8231.
Where will I have surgery?
Our 21 surgeons have privileges at Deaconess Hospital, Deaconess Gateway, St. Vincent Hospital, and St. Vincent Warrick. Surgeries are also performed at the surgery centers at Deaconess, Gateway, and St. Vincent.
Cancellation
We understand that sometimes your schedule changes and you have to cancel or reschedule an appointment. As a courtesy to other patients, we ask that you give us 48 hours notice prior to cancelling or rescheduling your appointment. Doing so allows us to add new patients to the schedule and continue to provide our patients with prompt care. If you need to cancel please call (812) 424-8231.
