Be Safe and Save Time with Our New Digital Check-In System

  • June 8, 2020
  •  by Alissa McMillan

As healthcare leaders in Indiana, we are always at the forefront of any medical or safety breakthroughs. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we are the first surgical practice in Indiana to implement the CheckinAsyst system from HealthAsyst.

Our new HIPAA and PCI-compliant touchless digital system will increase your safety, simplify the check-in process and save you time by streamlining your entire appointment.

Making Check-In as Safe as Possible

Since the emergence of COVID-19, we’ve been taking precautions to ensure your safety during surgeries as well as during the phasing in of nonessential services. Keeping our patients, staff, and providers safe is of the utmost importance to us, and adding a digital check-in system is another way for us to protect you.

When you check-in from home with the touchless option, you reduce the number of surfaces you contact during your visit. Here’s why — you won’t use a pen to fill out or sign any paperwork as you check-in. This reduced contact helps protect you by limiting the spread of germs during your visit.

Simplifying the Check-In Process

Our new system is a revolutionary change from past check-in processes. This is because it offers two ways to register for appointments: from the comfort of your own home or when you’ve arrived at one of our locations.

Those registering for appointments from home can virtually fill out and update all their information online. To register this way, you will need to:

  1. Click the registration link in the email or text that you received a few days before your appointment
  2. Confirm or update your information, such as demographics, insurance, and your clinical history
  3. Sign your consent forms digitally and safely from the comfort of your own home

That’s it!

The new system also allows you to provide feedback through patient satisfaction surveys after your appointment, as well as pay any outstanding balances or copayment you may have through the app.

When you arrive, you’ll be directed to the front desk staff to ensure that all your information has been received and have your photo identification and insurance cards scanned. This only takes a few minutes.

The digital forms display information you’ve previously updated. This cuts down on time you would have spent filling out paper forms. All you need is a few minutes to review or update your information and you’re all set for your appointment!

Streamlining Your Appointment

The benefits of the new system don’t stop at registration and check-in. This streamlines our intake process and helps you move through your appointment faster and makes it much more efficient for our staff to update and share information.

Our front office staff will be able to view:

  • Your appointment status
  • Your check-in progress
  • Your insurance details

They can also verify your eligibility in real-time when you arrive for an appointment, saving time and frustration for everyone involved.

The streamlined process allows our medical assistants to approve or decline any updates that may be incorrect. Approved updates are stored safely and securely to be used in later forms. Our surgeons can access these electronic forms to be reviewed, and you can even digitally sign them.

The digital system allows our staff to keep track of important data such as your payments and check-in time.

Another important function it serves, however, is letting us better serve you with the patient satisfaction survey. Our goal is to make your visit to Evansville Surgical Associates as pleasant and comfortable as possible, and this new system will help us do that.

At Evansville Surgical Associates, we are dedicated to serving our patients with the most state-of-the-art advanced surgical procedures in the Tri-State region. Established in 1969, Evansville Surgical Associates celebrates over 50 years of providing leading-edge comprehensive and compassionate surgical care.
