Dr. Throop was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at the Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is the Medical Director of the Bariatric Center at St. Mary's Medical Center. His surgical interests include advanced laparoscopy and bariatric surgery. He is an avid skier. Dr. Throop joined Evansville Surgical Associates in 1998.
